Finish OverviewWhat is the As Cut Finish?
The as cut finish — also known as laser as cut — describes the surface condition and edge of a part immediately after laser cutting, without secondary finishing operations. The part retains the texture, heat tint, and geometry generated directly by the laser beam during cutting.
It is widely used in sheet metal fabrication, flat blanks, brackets, industrial panels, and components that may later move on to bending, welding, CNC machining, or assembly.
By eliminating secondary processes such as deburring, bead blasting, or polishing, the as cut condition often provides the fastest and most economical route for functional production, geometry validation, and low-volume manufacturing.
