Heat treatment is a metallurgical process used to alter the physical and mechanical properties of a metal through controlled temperature and cooling cycles. Depending on the process applied, treatment can increase hardness, mechanical strength, toughness, dimensional stability, or relieve internal stresses generated during machining or manufacturing.
Heat treatment is widely used on CNC machined parts, tools, gears, shafts, automotive components, aerospace parts, and industrial products where material mechanical performance is critical.
Common heat treatments include quenching and tempering, annealing, normalizing, stress relief, carburizing, nitriding, and induction hardening, each designed to modify specific properties according to the required application.
