If your drawing doesn’t specify tolerances, we machine to ISO 2768-m (medium). On dimensions you call out —holes, contours and fits— we can hold ±0.1 mm (±0.004 in), and critical dimensions are checked in inspection. Polycarbonate expands with temperature, so tight dimensions are measured at room temperature.
Polycarbonate is machined with CNC milling, CNC turning, drilling, countersinking and tapping. It is cut with sharp tooling, good chip evacuation and without heating the part, so it doesn’t melt or crack later. The sheet’s protective film stays on as long as possible so the faces don’t get scratched.
Because it is clear and takes impacts, polycarbonate is used in many parts made with CNC machining.
Polycarbonate is usually the right choice when the part has to be see-through and cannot break.
