What this viewer is
A free 3D viewer that opens the most common CAD and 3D printing formats right in your browser, without installing software or creating an account. Use it to review a model before sending it to manufacturing or to show it to someone who doesn't have CAD.
Supported formats
STEP and IGES are CAD formats: they carry the exact geometry of the part. STL, OBJ, 3MF, glTF and PLY are triangle meshes, used in 3D printing, design and 3D scanning.
- STEP.step · .stp
- The neutral CAD format (ISO 10303). Exported by SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360, CATIA, NX, Creo and Onshape.
- IGES.iges · .igs
- Older CAD format, usually surfaces.
- STL.stl
- Triangle mesh, the classic 3D printing format.
- 3MF.3mf
- 3D printing mesh with units and colors.
- OBJ.obj
- General-purpose mesh, common in design and animation.
- glTF / GLB.glb · .gltf
- Mesh for web and augmented reality. A .gltf with separate files opens once exported as .glb.
- PLY.ply
- Mesh produced by 3D scanners.
Your file never leaves your computer
The model opens inside your browser: it isn't uploaded to any server and isn't stored anywhere. It's only uploaded if you decide so: clicking «Quote this part» sends it to your quote in the PREMSA portal, and clicking «Share» stores it for 7 days so the people you send it to can open it, then deletes it. In both cases it's protected by our privacy and confidentiality policies.

- How do I open a STEP or STP file without AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Fusion 360?
- Drag the .step or .stp file into this viewer. It opens in your browser in a few seconds, with no software to download and no account, and you can rotate it, measure it and cut it. The same goes for .stl, .igs, .obj and .3mf files.
- How do I measure an STL or STEP file online?
- Turn on «Measure» and click two points on the part: the viewer gives you the distance between them, the X, Y and Z deltas, and the angle between the two faces. With the snap turned on, the point locks to the nearest vertex.
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file opens inside your browser and never leaves your computer. It's only uploaded if you click «Quote this part» or «Share»; a shared part is stored for 7 days and then deleted.
- Which formats does the viewer open?
- STEP (.step, .stp), IGES (.iges, .igs), STL, OBJ, 3MF, glTF/GLB and PLY. Native CAD files (SLDPRT, IPT, CATPart, PRT) can't be opened: export them as STEP.
- Can I see inside a part?
- Yes. Turn on the section cut, pick the axis and slide the plane to see walls, holes and pockets. X-ray mode also shows the inside without cutting.
- How do I get the part I'm viewing manufactured?
- Click «Quote this part». If the file is STEP, STL or 3MF, it goes to the PREMSA portal with the part already loaded, where you get an instant price and delivery date for CNC machining or 3D printing.
