If your part rubs or spins on a shaft, SAE 660 is the general-purpose choice. For heavy loads or seawater, aluminum bronze. For fittings and economical parts, C84400. If it has many threads and doesn’t rub, C360 brass is cheaper. Upload your file and we’ll help you choose.

FAQ
Bronze is used where another part rubs, turns or slides on it: steel runs on bronze without galling, so the bronze wears slowly and is easy to replace. It also doesn't rust in water or air, conducts electricity and doesn't spark. That's why it's machined into bushings, sleeves, guides, flanges, threaded fittings and replacement parts for machinery, pumps and marine equipment.
SAE 660 bronze (C93200) is the general-purpose grade: it machines very well and handles rubbing with lubrication, the default for sleeves and bushings. Aluminum bronze (C95400) is the strongest and hardest, for heavily loaded parts or seawater service. Standard bronze (C84400) is the most economical, for fittings, valves and general-purpose parts. C360 brass is the easiest metal to machine: it cuts fast and leaves a good finish, ideal for nipples, connectors, inserts, screws and parts with many threads.
Bronze turning is the most common — bushings, fittings and flanges come from round bar — and milling makes plates, guides and prismatic parts. Bronze cuts clean and holds tight tolerances, so shaft and bearing fits come out to the size on your drawing.
