It’s almost always because your file is over the size limit, it’s empty, your connection dropped or your session couldn’t start. The portal tells you what happened with a message above the upload box or on your part’s card. Find the message you got here and how to fix it.
“your_part.step” is 182.4 MB and the limit is 150 MB. Compress it, or send us just the part without the full assembly.
A 3D model (STEP, STL or 3MF) can be up to 150 MB, and a drawing or any other file up to 50 MB. If your file is larger, it almost always contains a full assembly: export only the part you want quoted. Turning off appearances and textures when exporting also helps.
“your_part.step” is empty.
Your file is 0 bytes: it was saved incorrectly or didn’t finish copying. Export it again from your CAD program. If you downloaded it from your email or the cloud, open it on your computer first to make sure it actually contains something.
“Up to 10 files at a time. Add the rest from your quote.”
Up to 10 files fit in the home page upload box at a time, and anything beyond 10 was left out. Upload those 10, open your quote and add the rest from there; they all stay in the same quote.
“We couldn't connect to the server. Check your connection and try again.”
Your connection dropped while your file was uploading. Check your internet and try again. If you’re on your company’s network, a firewall may be blocking the upload; try from another network or from your phone.
“We couldn't start your session to process the file. Reload the page and try again.”
To upload files without an account, the portal opens a guest session and checks that you’re a person. If an ad blocker or privacy extension prevents it, your session doesn’t start. Reload the page; if it still happens, turn off the blocker for premsaindustries.com or sign in with your account.
“We couldn't open your quote. Please try again.”
Your files uploaded, but your quote couldn’t be created at that moment. Click “Quote” again; your files are still in the box.
On your part’s card: “We couldn't read this file. Upload it as STEP.”, “Processing error” or “The request timed out”
Your file uploaded, but it couldn’t be converted to 3D: it’s damaged, the export came out incomplete or it’s too complex. Export it again as STEP. If it’s an STL or 3MF, check that the mesh is closed. If the problem continues, remove the part and upload it again.
“your_part.SLDPRT” is a SolidWorks file: it can’t get an instant price like this. Upload it as STEP.
Your file did upload, but it’s in your CAD program’s own format. The same notice appears for Inventor, CATIA, NX, Creo, Parasolid and IGES. Export your part as STEP and upload it again. ZIP files and standalone PDF or image drawings are also saved without 3D or a price, although the portal doesn’t show a notice for them.
If none of this works
Email us at ventas@premsaindustries.com with your file attached and the message you got. We’ll review it and put your quote together.
