About custom bushing manufacturing
- What do I need to quote a bushing?
- The outer diameter, inner diameter, length and quantity. For a plain bushing, configure it in the portal template with no file; if it has a step, thread or groove, upload your STEP or PDF drawing. If your bushing has a specified fit (for example H7), put it on the drawing.
- Can I order a single bushing?
- Yes. There is no minimum order: quote from one part, and the quote shows how the price per part drops with quantity.
- What tolerances can you hold on a bushing?
- ISO 2768-m general tolerances apply by default. On the dimensions you specify on your drawing we can reach ±0.025 mm, including fits such as H7 on the bore. Critical dimensions are checked at inspection.
- What fit does a pressed bushing need?
- A pressed bushing has interference with its housing (for example H7/p6) so it will not spin or walk out; the shaft usually runs with a clearance fit (for example H7/g6 or H7/f7) so it turns with controlled play. The values are in our ISO 286 fit chart.
- Do you make stepped, threaded or grooved bushings?
- Yes. The portal template covers the plain bushing; for a step or flange, thread, lubrication groove, grease-fitting hole or keyway, upload your STEP or drawing and we will quote it.
- Why do bushings have a chamfer?
- The lead-in chamfer guides the shaft and the bushing on assembly and keeps the edges from scoring or burring. That is why the template includes one by default (1 mm × 45°); you can change or remove it.
- Can you make a bushing from a sample or a paper drawing?
- Yes. If you have no CAD file, request a manual quote in the portal and attach photos or the scanned drawing with dimensions; our team reviews it and gets back to you.
- How long does the quote take?
- A turned bushing is quoted with engineering review within 2–4 business hours; the manufacturing lead time is shown in the quote and depends on quantity.
Bushings turned to your dimensions
A bushing guides and supports a shaft, reduces friction and protects the housing from wear: when it wears out, you replace the bushing, not the whole part. That is why it shows up in almost every machine: molds, conveyors, hinges, pivots, suspensions and agricultural equipment.
A plain bushing is a cylinder with a through bore; a stepped one (also called flanged or collared) changes diameter to seat against a shoulder and work as an axial stop; a spacer keeps an exact distance between two parts; and bushings with a thread, groove or lubrication hole add what the application needs to be fastened or greased.
What makes a bushing work is not only its size: it is the fit with the shaft and the housing (interference or sliding), the concentricity between the outer and inner diameters, the lead-in chamfer that keeps the shaft from being damaged on assembly and the bore finish. If your drawing calls out a fit, we quote it and inspect against that tolerance.
There are two ways to order: configure the plain bushing in the portal template, or upload your STEP or PDF drawing if it has a step, thread, groove or any other feature. Quote from one part; the price per part drops as the quantity goes up.
